Remember

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.
Mother Teresa

Where 2011 leaves and 2012 begins we must remember, there are many people with tremendous losses. Devastations have surrounded their families for the entire year. Many of us have maintained some stablity, while others have not. Earthquakes, floods, fires, just to name a few have ripped through communities, and left millions homeless and displaced.

I loved this quote Mother Teresa believed that those who are unloved, unwanted, uncared for and forgotten is much greater than poverty than those who have nothing to eat. I believe that feeling alone and isolated is devastating. What comes to mind is what can I do this up coming year to bring a little joy to someone? It is a question we must all consider. It is my hope in 2012 that our resolutions, resolves, restructuring will include opening the doors for someone who has sadness in their eyes and troubles in their hearts. It just might be sharing your business with others and explaining the benifits to them.

Failing is not an option

Failure is in the mind of those who already feel defeated. Failure can rip and tear at our hearts, leaving us depressed and isolated. Failure is just a wall that blocks the door, locking, and closing that door so tight that the failure can't open.

Victory comes along and decides to lend you a helping hand by prying the hinges until failure has to let go. Victory wipes your brow and pads your face dry. You have fought until your limbs are too weak for movement. Victory pulls you up, places your shoes on those old tired feet, and helps you move from one area to another.

Victory gives you new direction, in site, and strength. A smile creeps up and straightens up your face, shines a bright light that, guides you enough until something happens a decision. A decision to move forward and leave the mistake behind. Travel time with me into 2012, improve the quality of your life by building something that will excite, move and stimulate your mind. Share with others your new found self. What a wonderful beginning. Just step right in, its first class for you all the way.

I believe it is your time to shine: I'd like to share with you today an adventure. Please review and leave a comment. What you think matters.

Happiness is the Goal

Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt

The Goal for today be happy. No matter what life throws at you be prepared to caught it. No one every said that life would be easy. Bumps and bruises you may receive along the way, but, then someone comes along and supports you while you heal. Happiness is the goal today try a smile or two, it will brighten up a dark room, and feel your heart with joy. Sometimes we feel so lonely and distressed but, then someone comes alone and lifts up the day. Wonder why the time goes so fast? because we have so much to do and places to see that spending time in grief just hinders you. Happiness is the goal and I know its true lets merge our laughter together and watch the goal come true.

Matters of the heart

The heart of the matter

We are growing so fast in this technological age, it has becomes a hinderance in patient care. For example, productivity, and meeting deadlines often contribute to the quality of care delivered to patients. Caring comes from the heart and patients matter.

Nurses are affected in a multitude of ways, long hours, heavy patient loads and high expectations. This method of patient care breeds fatique, discouragement and the I quit attitude.

Who is responsible

Employers have a responsibility to their employees. This responsibility includes caring for their employees enough to ensure safe work environments, adequate training and scheduled off days, strategies to ensure vaction and sick time off. Decreasing stressful situations if the employee has adequate time on the books for vactions or family time. When nurses are scheduled off the employer should limited phone calls to that nurse. This will allow the nurse to rest and recover from the previous days worked.

On the other hand the employee should be responsible for ensuring that the work is completed, clear and accurate. The employee is also responsible for timely documentation, and reporting off to the on coming nurse. Follow up is the key to smooth transitions in patient care.

Conclusion

Nurses are important for the care and management of patients, it is important to establish trust with them. Patients must be allowed to maintain involvement in their care. When discussing patient plans of care involve them. In order to meet the needs of the patient, nurses must intentionally listen and provide a caring word so that the patient will be willing to partake in the recommendations of the doctor.

Patients are important and it does become matters of the heart.
