Mentors: Who's effective are you? relationships

Are you the best at what you do?  Try reaching out to a mentor.  Today I wanted to speak to mentoring.     I found it beneficial to identify important qualities in one who professes to be a mentor.   Seek mentors who have a listening ear, and are willing to guide you in your learning process.  Whether it is business or training for an event. One of the key characteristic of a mentor, is listening, and effective communication. According to Entwistle (2000), “There are three main approaches to learning: deep, surface or strategic learning. 

Entwistle, describes deep learners as intrinsically motivated students, striving to understand and seek meaning from their work and studies.  Surface learners are described as being motivated by a fear of failure and a desire to simply satisfy the demands of the curriculum.  Such an approach usually results in poor understanding with minimal sense of lasting achievement or satisfaction (Kell and Owen 2009). We want to have lasting learning and understanding to perfect the challenges in building our business. Success in learning anything, comes from an effective mentor.

An effective mentor assesses the needs, builds a relationship of trust, and guides the mentee toward goals.  A mentor will assist in developing a plan of action that will move the mentee toward success.  It is important that the mentor be aware of jargon language and judgments.  Mentors answer questions, provide guidance and encouragement.  Mentors are available and willing to assist in the growth of the mentee. Patience is what builds strong relationships.

Mentors must have patience, when mentee’s become anxious and project self-criticisms, mentors should inject words that will reduce the mentee’s fears, and anxiety. This helps reduce anxiety and redirects the mentee's focus. There are lots of mentors who claim to be supportive, active and participatory in the success of the mentee.  However, this is not always true.  It is important to identify your needs.  Determine how the mentor can help. Once you have decided that a mentor is needed then begin the search by asking question/.  Mentors are valid and have existed for many years.  It is up to you to seek and find the mentor that will stretch you in areas you have not exercised before namely the ‘brain.’

Additional methods of learning include reading blogs from other business leaders, gathering ideas from other business owners that interest you. It is equally important to have an open mind, and having the ability to recognize your strengths and weaknesses. Growing pains come as knowledge increases, it takes understanding to success in anything. Mentoring works when the mentor is able to capture the learners attention. Guidance, listening ear and patience are key.

What kind of seeds are you spreading? Seeds that are sown on good ground produce; you know the scripture that speaks to the parable of the sower.  “And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable: a sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodded down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.  And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bared fruit a hundredfold.  And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear let him hear.”  (Luke 8:-4-8) 

The seeds were planted, watered, warmed by the sun and grew. This is how our relationships should grow.  Relationships should develop through germination. It is a beginning of a process of development.  The relationship must germinate until it blossoms. Germination is an embryo inside the seed.  Relationships begin as an embryo, learning to trust the seed during the development.  The embryo develops a safe environment during that growth.  It does not have to worry about drying out, disconnecting and/or isolating from the seed.  The seed is nourished through watering. 

It is important to know what kind of seed you are sowing.  If you are sowing dishonest seeds look for dishonest seeds to germinate inside. Seeds of mistrust germinated distrusting blooms. Seeds of faith, courage, honesty, kindness and fairness germinate and duplicate growing into beautiful flowers of all kinds.  Examine the seeds you are dropping each day it may just grow thorns that will prick your finger and choke the few good seeds you’ve planted.

Seeds of discord, we’ve all planted a seed or two but cut these seeds at the root and destroy the tie that binds them.  Sow seeds that are rooted in faith, strong enough to protect other seeds.  The germination process you start from the very beginning will determine the flower that blooms in the spring.  Planting and sowing, fertilizing and caring for each seed you drop will feed those who come behind you.

Prepare your grown and seed each section carefully, protecting them with goodness and mercy each, and everyday watch them grown in a strong way. “Everything that exists is in a manner the seed of that which will be” Marcus Aurelius.

Business germinates in the beginning it is all over the palace until it becomes consistent and habitual, and a routine develops.  It is like a child that takes his/her first step, stumbling, and leaning. Internet marketing takes time to develop.  It is the embryo that is surrounded by a germinating seed.  Once it is ready to produce it will. It takes time to develop the skills of Internet marketing but with patients and understanding your seed will grow in leaps and bounds. Everything that exists is in a manner the seed of that which will be Marcus Aurelius. Plan your seed in good ground and expect to harvest in due season.

Many people do not expect the harvest.  They plan seeds and water them faithfully but do not believe that the harvest is coming.  We often become concern about what is to come and it brings doubt in our hearts and mind.  We must believe in the unexpected.  Expect the harvest and trust that God will help you grow and reap the benefits.  We must continue to work and labor in our business.  Giving up is not an acceptable option.  I say acceptable option because it is an option.

Choosing the best ground, surrounding yourself with other sower who believes that the harvest is coming is important to you.  Declare today that the harvest is coming and be prepare to reap the benefit.  While you wait in great expectation, share you good news with others.  Let them know what you are waiting for.  Get involve with the vision and see the seeds germinate into something beautiful.

Be patient and remember what you has begun is the beginning of ties to the future of your family.  Stay connected to the original vision.  Marcus Aurelius said, “Everything that exists in a manner the seed of that which will be.” The seed is intended to grow.

Oscars-And the Oscar Goes To

The Oscars is an American Academy Award that recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry (en.eikipedia.org)

I decided today The Oscar goes to two my affiliates each of them receive the Oscar for excellence. The team acknowledgement is my way of thanking them for allowing me to help achieve dreams. Team work is a great concept if you have the right team.

Teams with cohesive relationships last longer, communicate and work diligent to ensure the teams’ needs or met. I love groups, just like the committee that determines which film and host will participate in the Oscars. It takes strategies to build great teams endurance, and longevity is key components.  

The team I have discuss issues, provide input on what works, we encourage each other and build one another up. When mistakes occur we acknowledge the mistake and move on. Some teams like to sabotage one another’s effort when in fact this tactic will destroy a team.

Teams must work together in network marketing. Groups grow by helping each other understand important concepts. Team decide together to meet in the conference rooms to learn and strategies. For example, webinars, teams decide to attend, and then meet together to discuss new services, products, and ways to generate streams of income based on the information received. The team I serve is very supportive, and provides great input. Once you’ve found the team that works help, support, and make yourself available to them.

I’m available to ensure that information I receive about my independent business is passed on to the team. I love to share concepts that work. When a team member is identified as hard working, and diligent the team reaps the rewards. Of course there are individual rewards as well. I’d like to present the Oscar today to Team Rhino of Better Web Builder great job. Remember your dreams are achievable when you believe.

The Theme:James stresses the need for Christian living not only to show the reality of person's inner development but to show the world that the gospel does, in fact change lives. If a person claims to be Christian but is not different from an unbeliever, what benefit is that to anyone, much less to a world in need of truth? When we follow Christ in work and in action, we can be a transforming force in the world.

I believe that our businesses should help transform lives. We must have the wisdom of God. Our lives should help others lives transform. We must be an example honest, true to our word, and loyal. Living our lives to the best of our ability, and allowing God to stretch us even when we don't want to be stretched, it will only make us stronger.

Building relationships is wise, treating people with kindness, compassion, and love reduces the stressful surroundings that hinder our growth.

God has a greater plan for our lives, but we must steady the course, endure the trials and know that we can not do it alone. We need each other, just like we need each other on this wonderful business platform. Sharing idea, learning from each other is trans formative, and after all we are in the business to transform our lives and the lives of others.
